Renegade Squirrel, a voter data management software company based in North Carolina, announced today that it will offer a new discount for any candidates for Charlotte City Council that challenge incumbent members who vote to increase CMPD funding during today’s budget vote. The discount will provide challengers a blanket 40% off any services with Renegade Squirrel, including access to it’s Campaign voter contact software and individualized consulting services.
Renegade Squirrel CEO Mike Huttman stated “We cannot sit on the sidelines and give city council a blank check to increase funding for a police force that abuses our black and brown neighbors. We are proud to support candidates and organizations who will hold these politicians accountable so that Charlotte can become a safe and prosperous city for all. It’s time for Charlotte to recognize that Black Lives Matter.”
More details on the discount:
Discount will be provided for any candidates, PACs, or organizations who purchase Renegade Squirrel services or software licenses in order to oppose incumbent members of Charlotte’s City Council who cast any vote other than “Nay” on the 2021 Proposed Budget which includes $5 million in additional funding for CMPD.
This discount will be void if the increase in funding does not pass or if funding for CMPD is reduced in the passed budget. Discount is valid starting June 8, 2020 through the municipal General Election in November 2021.
